About Counselling

Nothing is too unimportant to talk about in counselling if it troubles you.  Counselling offers you a safe and confidential space to explore your issues and problems in your life with a qualified counsellor who will accept and value you as you are and will not judge you.

Counselling can help you with issues such as:

  • relationship problems
  • being bullied, abused or hurt
  • low self-esteem and lack of confidence
  • illness and bereavement
  • depression, stress, anxiety, panic attacks
  • problems at work or redundancy
  • cultural diversity and individual differences
  • change

The overall aim of counselling is to help you to understand more about yourself, about the choices you have and about the changes you can make to experience a more fulfilling and resourceful way of life.

The benefits might include:

  • improved self-esteem, being less self-critical
  • coping in a crisis
  • better relationships with others
  • being able to reach decisions
  • developing insight (to self and others)
  • approaching problems differently
  • seeing yourself and your needs more clearly
  • feeling more satisfied in life
